Mary C. Ciuca

Mary C. (Silvestri) Ciuca, 88, of Vandergrift, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born May 5, 1934 in Vandergrift, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Silvestri & Genoveffa (DiGregrio) Silvestri.
Mary was a 1952 graduate of Vandergrift High School, and Robert Morris Business School. She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, where she was a lector, choir, Sunday school teacher, and former Rosary Society and member of the Silver Sneakers.
Mary loved the arts, and was skilled at oil painting. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, cooking and listening to music. Above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian F. Ciuca, who passed away on February 14, 2015; son, James J. Ciuca, who passed away on June 23, 2020; and her brothers, John, Benjamin, Frank, and James Silvestri.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Angela (Michael) Bennardo of Washington Township; grandson, Eric Bennardo of Washington Township; granddaughter, Amy Bennardo of Washington Township; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm in the Brady-Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Parting prayers of transfer will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Boland, O.S.B. as celebrant. Private entombment in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
