Anna L. McCoy

Anna Lucille McCoy,88, of Zanesville passed away on Friday August 22, 2025, at her residence.
Anna was born in Zanesville on March 6, 1937, to the late William C. and Nellie Harmon Best. She was formerly employed by Essex Wire on the assembly line. Anna loved playing the lottery, casinos, cross-stitching, and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Donald McCoy, whom she married on July 27, 1955; two children: Don “Duke” (Dianna) McCoy, and Alice (Ronald McConnell) McCoy; a sister who was like a daughter to her Susan “Susie” (Byron “Skip”) Baker; three grandchildren: Jordan (Sidney Burkhart) Fisher, Andrew Fisher, and Malia (Jared) Hobson-Brackeen; seven great-grandchildren: Kamden, Eli, Annabelle, Aspen, Reese, Hunter, and Olivia; a special niece Rhonda Tracy; special family Patty Sheets who helped the family in Anna’s final days; her best friend Michelle McPeck; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children: Thomas McCoy, Doris McCoy, and Tawnya McCoy; two sisters: Wilma “Red” Smith and Billie Mason; and a grandson Jarod Hobson.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701 and would like to thank them for their outstanding care.
Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, August 27 in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Food and fellowship will continue at the family farm after the burial.
