Bessie P. Toffolo

Bessie P. Toffolo, 92, of New Stanton, died Saturday, April 24, 2021. She was born May 23, 1928 in Picairn, a daughter of the late Angelo and Mabel (Wheler) Pifferetti. Bessie was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Youngwood and its Women’s Guild, and volunteered at Meals on Wheels. Prior to retirement she was employed by Power X. She had quite a sense of humor and made a lot of people laugh; enjoyed gardening; and loved to decorate for Christmas. Surviving are two sons, William O. Toffolo, Jr. and wife, Linda, of Germantown, Maryland and Jeffrey A. Toffolo and wife, Debra, of Greensburg; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother Harry Pifferitti of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, William O. Toffolo; a sister, Jean Consoli; brothers, Jack, William, Geno and Tom Pifferetti; and two infant sisters. Friends may attend a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am Tuesday in Holy Cross Church, 711 Depot St., Youngwood. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caring staff of Newhaven Court and Hempfield Manor for becoming Bessie’s extended “family” during this pandemic. During months of minimal family contact, it was comforting to know that she was not alone.
