Betty L. Hardy

Betty L Hardy, 79, of Armbrust, passed away on Friday November 24, 2023. She was born on August 11, 1944, in Crabtree, the daughter of the late Simon and Isabelle (Hollis) Shondelmyer. Betty attended Mt. Laurel View Church in Mount Pleasant. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her friends and family and loved taking walks with her sister at Mammouth Park. She is survived by her children, Betty Jean Sweitzer, and husband, Jay, of Hunker and Tina Keefe, and fiancé, Ted, of Pleasant Unity; her grandchildren, Brandon Sweitzer, and wife, Becca, Bethany Neiman, and husband, Ralph, and Joshua Keefe, and fiancé, Kirsten; her great grandchildren, Ryker Gabriel, Vinnie, Xander, William and Tristian. Betty loved and adored all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Logan, of Latrobe and her numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hardy; her siblings, Barbara Shondelmyer, Mae McDonald, Frank Shondelmyer, Samuel Shondelmyer and William Shondelmyer. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. A funeral service will be held on Wed. Nov. 29, at 11 am. in the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Laurel View Church, 109 Scenic View Dr, Mt Pleasant, PA 15666.
