Charles I. Knapp

Charles “Bub” Knapp Jr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 22, 1935 in Leon, West Virginia. Charles was the son of the late Charles Knapp Sr. and Edna (Battrell) Knapp. He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Holmes, Roberta Williams, Jacquelynn Frizzell and Gwendolyn Knapp. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years Deanna Knapp, his loving daughter Robin Knapp and his caring son-in-law Dave McKnight.

He worked at Buckeye Steel as a pattern maker for 44 years until his retirement. Retirement though didn’t slow him down. He loved being part of the Masons in Canal Winchester and working as an usher supervisor at OSU home games for many years. Charles will be remembered for his compassion and love for his family, friends and pets – especially for his cat Monty.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 11am – Noon with a memorial service held right after on Friday July 18 at Dwayne-Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester.
