Dorothy Turner Good, born on October 9, 1932, in Marion, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on September 26, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was 92 years old. Dorothy was a beloved daughter, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose warmth, kindness, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dorothy was the daughter of Johnson Turner and Annie Mae Simmons Turner, who instilled in her the values of hard work and family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Gary Good Jr., and her parents, Johnson Turner and Annie Mae Simmons Turner. Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary Wayne Good (Karen, deceased), and her daughter, Sherri Good Parish (Donnie). She was a proud grandmother to Brian Good (Stephanie), and Greg Parrish (Shannon), as well as a loving grandmother to Scott Parrish (Niki), and great grandmother to Tanner & Dylan Good, Jackson Parrish, John Parrish, Kyle Parrish, and Will Parrish, who will forever cherish the memories they created together.
Dorothy dedicated many years of her life to her career, working diligently at A&P Grocery in customer service and bookkeeping, and later as a bank teller. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her unwavering dedication to helping others, exemplifying the spirit of service in both her work and her community.
Dorothy was not only committed to her work but also deeply involved in her church family at India Hook United Methodist Church, where she served in Vacation Bible Schools and various ministries. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and enriching her relationships.
Her passions outside of work included spending quality time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, with whom she shared countless joyful moments. Dorothy loved indulging in puzzle books, especially word searches, and found joy in shopping for treasures. Her beloved Dachshund, affectionately named Ginger, was spoiled with cheese treats that she shared with her cherished pet.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at India Hook United Methodist Church, located at 3300 Mt Gallant Rd, Rock Hill, SC, on October 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Burial will be private.
