Jennie Sellers Burch, age 95, of Matthews, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Born on May 21, 1930, Jennie was a proud graduate of Ruby High School, Class of 1949. She was a devoted member of Stallings Church, where her faith and kindness touched many lives.
Jennie will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength and boundless generosity. She was loving, thoughtful, and giving, always putting others before herself. Her passions included gardening, sewing, reading, and word searches, simple joys that reflected her peaceful spirit and curious mind.
Above all, Jennie will be cherished for her giving heart—a heart that nurtured her family, embraced her community, and left a legacy of compassion. Her warmth and grace will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Andy Burch (Janet) and Cindy Shearin; grandchildren, Julie Austin and Garrett Shearin; and great grandchildren, Kylah Austin, Blakely, Adaline, and Hayden Shearin. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Burch; parents, Phodie and Wyatt Sellers; brothers, Bliss, Prentiss, and Billy Sellers; and sisters, Foye Wallace and Sallie Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Stallings Methodist Church, 1115 Stallings Rd, Stallings, NC 28104. A service will immediately follow. Jennie will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
