Katharina B. Maerz
February 11, 1931 - November 25, 2025 (Age 94)
Katharina Brumm Maerz passed away at Lancaster Nursing and Rehab Center on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Born in Mramorak, Yugoslavia on February 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Elisabetha Bender Brumm. She was the wife of Michael Maerz, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2001.
Katharina was proud of her Eastern European Heritage. She loved German music and dancing. She and her husband enjoyed going to the Lancaster Liederkranz. She cleaned private homes. She enjoyed taking road trips with her husband. Katharina cared for her daughter, Margaret Maerz for many years until her passing in 2024.
Katharina will be missed by her daughter, Brigitte T. Walton of Lancaster and her brother in laws, Konrad Maerz and Martin, husband of Virginia Maerz and her sister in laws, Marie, wife of Michael Snyder, Margaret Hippey and Elizabeth Maerz and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Maerz and her grandson, Brent Flick.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Katharina's funeral service on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 2PM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 317 E. Orange Street, Lancaster. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 1PM to 2PM. Interment will be held in the Conestoga Memorial Park.
