Kenneth D. Paden

Kenneth D. Paden, 93, of Irwin, died Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was born February 10, 1932 in Paintertown, a son of the late Kenneth J. and Frances (McKim) Paden and was also preceded in death by his daughter Dawn M. Helfrich and sisters Margaret Painter and Gwendolyn Ann Dillon. Ken was a retired clerk for Westinghouse Corp, Trafford and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the former United Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Irwin, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as an elder and deacon. He was currently a member of Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was a longtime member of the Irwin Male Chorus. He loved gardening and sharing his harvest with neighbors and strangers passing by. He got great joy playing his melodica in church and for the Men’s Prayer Fellowship group he participated in for many years. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Harriett K. (Carter) Paden; his daughter Hope Paden Beck (Paul) of Trafford; his grandchildren Harry Beck, Dr. Abby Beck, Dena (Thomas) Batcho and Amber (Mike) Stefanik; his great grandchildren Cody (Shanan) Helfrich and Jackson Stefanik; his great great grandchildren Colt and Easton; siblings Beverly Bergman of Arizona and Phillip Paden of North Huntingdon; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1. Interment with military honors will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3380 Nehrig Hill Rd., Ardara, PA 15615.
