Lois L. Beard

Lois L. (Ochs) Beard, 91, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, August 24, 2023. She was born April 6, 1932 in Wilmerding, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Anna Marie (Master) Ochs. Lois was a retired secretary working for Dormont Manufacturing in Delmont and Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon. She was a Collegian in the Women of the Moose, Lodge 171, Irwin and enjoyed bowling. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William J. Beard Sr., her son William J. Beard Jr., and siblings Raymond Ochs, Jane Mann and Agnes Rowles. She is survived by her children Cheryl Ann (Jeff) O’Neill of North Huntingdon and James W. (Vivian) Beard of Newport News, VA; her grandchildren Jeffrey O’Neill and his fiancé Tabytha Sant, Brittne Beard, and James W. Beard; also niece and nephew Nancy (John) Harr and Thomas Rowles. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in New Hope Presbyterian Church with Pastor Brenda Barnes, officiating. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a contribution in Lois’s name can be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church or Pet Friends.
