June 2, 1931 - January 23, 2025 (Age 93)
Marilyn Y. Yost, 93, of Quarryville, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Clarence D. Yost, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 1992.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Phares H. and Mae (Brenner) Weaver.
Known as “Dutch”, Marilyn was a well-known and well-loved member of the Quarryville community because of her 50+ years of employment at the former Ferguson and Hassler Supermarket. She had a strong work ethic along with the qualities of being kind, selfless, and thinking of others before herself, never saying a bad word about anyone. In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed shopping and working in her flower bed. She especially loved going to the beach and enjoyed many good times in Cape May and Rehoboth Beach. Marilyn attended True Gospel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Robert) Stahler, Sandra England, Kathleen (Brian) Wade, and Pamela (Robert) Porterfield, a sister, Phyllis (Roger) Roland, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Robby Lewis, and a sister, Judy Weaver.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 31, at Wesley Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, PA 17566, with a viewing at the church from 10 AM – 11 AM.
Interment will take place at Conestoga Memorial Park.
