Perry L. Alexander
September 5, 1965 - August 26, 2022 (Age 56)
Perry Lorenzo “Peanut” Alexander of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on August 26, 2022. Perry
was born on September 5, 1965, the second child of Jerry and Willie Barnes Alexander.
During his early years, Perry loved playing football and baseball, and he enjoyed running track.
Perry participated in all of these sports in youth leagues. He also loved reading mystery novels.
Perry received his diploma from Independence Senior High School in Charlotte, NC in 1983.
Following graduation, he attended A&T State University in Greensboro, NC.
Perry was a gifted painter, working as a professional painter for over 30 years. He worked on
both residential and commercial properties, and painted everything from interior/exterior walls,
to fences, to furniture. He was often sought after for his painting skills. Perry was also gifted as a
carpentry “handyman” who could repair almost anything. He was generous with his time and
talents, helping many people who could not afford to pay.
To know Perry was to love him. He leaves loving memories with his parents Jerry and Willie
Alexander; brothers Gerald (Sharon) Alexander and Shuwane Alexander, and sister Shermaine
Alexander, all of Charlotte, NC; uncles Ray Alexander of Washington, D.C., Will (Vanessa)
Barnes, of Huntersville, NC, and Phillip “Tony” Barnes, of Santa Fe, NM; aunts Doris (Earl)
Lee, Carrie Durley and Lynette Barnes, all of Charlotte, NC; and his “sister-cousin” Yahonda
Glover Anderson of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves to cherish fond memories a host of nephews,
nieces, cousins and friends.
