Sturman C. Moore

Pastor Sturman C. Moore, age 76 of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 14, 1947 in Cambridge, a son of the late Joseph L. Moore and Bernice Marie (Cox) Moore.

Sturman married Shirley J. Mincks in 1966, they were married for 57 years. Also surviving are his three children, Joseph W. (Mandy) Moore, Jennifer M.( Jerry) Blattner and Benjamin Clark Moore; a sister Kimberly Ann Kohl; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several sister and brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; his brother Gary Moore and a brother-in-law Scott Kohl.

Mr. Moore worked in the Tool & Die trade and served as pastor in the United Methodist Church. He graduated the five year course of study at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. Then he served as local pastor at Fairview, Londonderry, McCoy, Sugar Grove, Kimbolton, Irish Ridge, Lebanon-Hopewell, Kennonsburg and Duncan Falls UMC’s. He served his last nine years before retiring at Christ United Methodist Church in Cambridge. Sturman led several mission trips to Haiti, where he preached and led work crusades. He preached many revival services in area churches as well. Sturman’s primary goal in ministry was to introduce as many souls as possible to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be held at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm with funeral services to be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11 am. Pastor Mark Slay will officiate with burial to follow in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
