Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Adell Hooper Medlin, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Carolina Gardens of Rock Hill.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 South Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC with Doctor Ron Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-1:15 pm on Friday prior to the service. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill.
Born in Anderson, SC, Mrs. Medlin was the daughter of the late James CoDale Hooper and the late Minnie Lee Pierce Hooper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Junior Medlin, three brothers, James, Jr., Alfred, and Theren Hooper; sister, Ailene Dixon. She was retired hairdresser and a member of Catawba Baptist Church.
Mrs. Medlin is survived by two sons, Little Jay Medlin (Connie Gilliam) of Rock Hill, and Eddy (Caressa) Medlin of Rock Hill; two granddaughters, Calla (Donavan) Wesson and Amber Waddell both of Rock Hill; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Evelyn, Jayson and Paul; two brothers, David Hooper, Sr. of St. Matthews, SC and Zeke (Lorraine) Hooper of Myrtle Beach, SC; her sister, Gaynelle (Marvin) Kay of Belton, SC and her caregiver, Marsha Ruffin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Medlin’s name to Catawba Baptist Church 1450 S. Anderson Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730.
