Agnes Morral

November 16, 1927 - June 17, 2022 (Age 94)

CUMBERLAND – Agnes Marie (Fredman) Morral, 94, of Cumberland, passed into the arms Christ Jesus on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Sterling Care Frostburg Village.

Born on November 16, 1927, in Paw Paw, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Nellie (Gross) Fredman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade K. Morral, Sr.; brother, James F. Fredman; and sister, Patricia Carder.

Mrs. Morral was a 1945 graduate of Paw Paw High School. She married Wade on September 11, 1947. She worked as a laboratory technician at the Celanese Plant in Cumberland form 1948 to 1951. She also spent 20 years as a teacher’s assistant at Bel Air Elementary School, retiring in 1988.

Agnes and Wade’s favorite activity was traveling, and she felt she was most fortunate to be able to see 47 states of the United States, many countries in Europe, and Canada. She remarked that, no matter where she traveled, there was no place like the hills of Western Maryland. Besides traveling, Agnes loved to read and garden.

Mrs. Morral was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was the volunteer coordinator for the Interfaith Community Food Pantry for 20 years.

She is survived by her loving family, sons, Wade K. Morral, Jr. (Cindy), Cumberland, and Mark E. Morral (Lori), Cumberland; grandchildren, Krista (Morral) Kegg (Jamie), Cumberland, Melissa (Morral) Cooper (Brice), FL, Travis Morral (Amber), Hyndman, PA, Tim Morral, Cumberland, Rob Wise (Erin), Hampstead, MD, and Nicole Morral (Jon), Cumberland; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hal Atkins officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
