Alan Dale Weyant

October 4, 1955 – May 2, 2026 (Age 70)

Alan Dale Weyant, 70, of New Paris, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 4, 1955, in Bedford, son of the late Gerald and Elaine (Lee) Weyant.

On July 6, 1982, he married Diana L. (Anderson) Weyant, who preceded him in death on September 16, 2015.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Weyant; sister, Robin; brothers, Kenneth, David, and Steven; and great-nephew, Wyatt.

He is survived by his granddaughters, Kayla (Josh) Jabco; Karissa and grandson, Kacey (Brianna) Weyant; great grandchildren, Jocelynn Kenton and Sage; brother, Bill (Annette) Weyant; sister, Mona Rhodes; 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and 10 great nieces and nephews.

SSgt. Alan D. Weyant served in the USAF from 1974 to 1994. He graduated from NCO leadership and NCO academy courses which allowed him to move into Management Positions.

He was assigned to the first Tactical Armament Systems Combat (CAST). Armament System Team Chief was far excelled in all facets of the aircraft equipment items.

His ability to diagnosis aircraft equipment failures and complete maintenance helped his CAST to successfully win the Best Armament Systems in Tactical Air Command. Also, he led his organization to win best Air Force Base Facility and was chosen to accept the award in Washington D.C.

He was chosen as the lead Armament Systems maintenance team chief to prepare Cannon Air Force base to Turkey for Operation Provide comfort deployment.

He successfully retired from The United States Air Force with commendation medals for his Outstanding Service in 1994.

Alan was a lifetime member of the Pleasantville VFW Post 9219. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Private services will be held at the family’s request.
