Alberta W. Prince

Mrs. Albertha Williams Prince, 88, of Charlotte, NC went home to be with the Lord on October

17, 2022 at 10:24 am. She was a native of Summerville, SC and lived in Charleston, SC for

twenty-three years before moving to Charlotte, NC in 1977 with the love of her life, the late

Randle Lee Prince. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Alonzo Herbert Lee Warren,

Joyce (Larry) Holland, and Rev. Brenda D. Prince; grandchildren Bernard Jenkins, Sr., Toshiba

Warren and LaToya Warren; great-grandchildren Bernard Jenkins, Jr., Alexander, Cameron,

Crystal (who lived with her), Ahmauray, Tatyana, Shamari, Jaylen and Kylee. She also leaves

her beloved brother-in-law, Norman O. (Gordia) Prince of Stone Mountain, GA and her dear

sister-in-law, Deloris Milton of Paris, TX and a host of other relatives and friends. Her eldest

child, Shirley Ann “Bunny” Jenkins preceded her in death.

Mrs. Prince was a member of Morris Brown AME Church in Charleston, SC in her early years

and Greater Bethel AME Church in Charlotte, NC and served faithfully on many boards and

committees in each church. In her community she was a member of the Zeta Amicae, Inc. of

Charlotte. God anointed her to be a loving caregiver for many children in her home, all of whom

she loved dearly and treated as her own grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by many.

The celebration of life will be held on October 29, 2022 at Greater Bethel AME Church, 5232

The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28215, Rev. Dr. Abdue Knox is the pastor. The visitation hour is 11:00

am, celebration service will start at 12 noon. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens,

8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
