Alexander MacPherson
August 21, 1934 - August 18, 2023 (Age 88)
Alexander “Al” MacPherson, 88, of Everett, PA; passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Homewood, Martinsburg. He was born on August 21, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ; a son of the late William and Marion (Price) MacPherson. He was first married to Joan (Leuthner) MacPherson, she preceded him in death in 1955. He later on May 4, 1957 was united in marriage to Trudy A. (Domanek) MacPherson. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2015.
He is survived by four daughters Terry married to Tom Pelton, Weston, CT; Darcy married to Joe Pannuto, Hewitt, NJ; Leslie married to Dave Sands, Ridgefield, CT; Wendy married to Jeff Kasunic, Aliquippa, PA; grandchildren Casy Pannuto, Lia Pannuto, Nora (Pannuto) Alkhader, Cody Kasunic and Krista (Kasunic) Stephenson; great grandchildren Holly, Gregory and Ethan Gravell; Elena, Damon and Milana Alkhader; and a sister Jean DiMartino married to Tom.
He was preceded in death by siblings Marion Garahan, Isabel Moore, William MacPherson, Ethel Hutnyan and Robert MacPherson.
Al was a member of Bedford Forge Community Church. He enjoyed singing in various church choirs, painting, reading, and caring for his fish ponds. He and his wife spent twenty-five years rescuing greyhounds.
Mr. MacPherson was an engineer working his entire career for PSE&G until his retirement. At the age of 70 he pursued ministry becoming a minister in the United Methodist denomination, filling various pulpits in the area for a number of years.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Dawes and Pastor Beth Pyles officiating.
Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.
