Alexandria P. (Safran) Carasia

Alexandria (Safran) Carasia, 94, of Jeannette, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021. She was born December 6, 1927, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Samuel, Sr., and Justina Hulick Safran. Prior to her retirement, Alexandria was employed as a hostess at the former Mountain View Inn in Greensburg and the Lamplighter Restaurant in Delmont. Alexandria was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Jeannette where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, and was very active in the church’s Community Arts & Activity Center. She received an award from the church for her artwork and helped with her calligraphy skills to make all of the baptism and marriage certificates. She also volunteered for 25 years at the Redstone Highlands Senior Facility in Greensburg.
In addition to her parents Alexandria was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth A. Carasia, in 1982; brothers, Samuel Safran, Jr., Frank, Michael, John, Paul, and Joseph Safran; and sisters, Annie McCune, Julia Casper, Mary Beck, Eva Safran, Olga Brown, and Helen Greco; and a son-in-law, Francis “Fritz” Simola.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth A. Carasia, and wife Cindy, and Cassandra Carasia-Simola, all of Jeannette; a sister Nell Elaine Ed of Johnstown PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alexandria’s family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Excela Health Hospice for their kind and loving care.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday in the John V. Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 228 North 2nd St., Jeannette. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Susan Luttner officiating. Interment will follow in the Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Twp.
