Alice Faye Larkins
February 16, 1937 - December 29, 2021 (Age 84)
Rock Hill, SC – Alice Faye Larkins, 84, surrounded by her three children, entered into the glorious presence of the Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Monday, January 3, 2022 at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, 1024 Rawlinson Road, Rock Hill. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Burial will be private at Grandview Memorial Park, Rock Hill.
Mrs. Larkins was born on February 16, 1937 in Maple Hill, NC. She graduated from high school with honors and then moved to Wilmington, NC where she met her husband, Jack. Faye and Jack moved their family to Rock Hill, SC in 1962. She became the secretary and later the bookkeeper for Sylvia Circle Elementary School in the Rock Hill School District #3. She was employed there for forty-eight years and retired in 2018 at the age of 81. Faye was a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church where she attended faithfully for fifty-five years. Her passions were singing in the church choir, raising money for several charities, watching the many hummingbirds at her feeders, playing games, and traveling with her family.
Mrs. Larkins is preceded in death by her husband, Jack T. Larkins, Sr, whom she was married to for sixty-one years; her parents, Eugene and Gladys Powers of Maple Hill, NC; by her older brother, Gene Gray Powers of Maple Hill, NC.
Mrs. Larkins was a caring, loving mother and is survived by her three children, Jack Larkins Jr. (Dawn) of Kernersville, NC, Donna Tennent (Dave), and Janet Guyton (Chuck) both of Rock Hill; two brothers, David Powers and Glenn Powers (Brenda) of Maple Hill, NC; three sisters, Hilda Raines of Clarksville, VA, Carolyn Maiorino of Memphis, TN, and Betty Rowe (Jeryl) of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Kaley Goodwin (Robert), Brett Larkins, Jack Larkins III (Ashley), Dillon Guyton, and Alec Larkins. The grandchildren loved their “Grammie” and were very blessed to have been visiting at her home at the time of her death.
