Alice Mullis
November 30, 1935 – October 5, 2026 (Age 90)
Alice Elaine Mullis, 90, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was born November 30, 1935 in what is known as the Belmont Community near uptown Charlotte, and passed away October 5, 2026.
Alice graduated from Bethel High School in Cabarrus County in 1954.
Her working life was devoted to administrative duties at various locations in and around Charlotte, North Carolina—steady, capable work carried out with the same consideration and quiet grace that marked so much of her life. In addition to her other jobs, she took on the role of Vice-President and Secretary of K. W. Mullis Plumbing Company, Inc. that she & her husband, Keith, established in 1973 and is carried on by their son and daughter-in-law.
Alice found joy in the simple, enduring pleasures that made home feel like home: reading, cross-stitch, playing piano, planting flowers, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Her kindness and bright smile were gifts freely given, remembered and cherished by those who knew her.
Faith was an important part of Alice's life. As a child she attended Allen Street Baptist Church until her family moved to Cabarrus County where they became members of Clear Creek Baptist Church. It was here that she met her future husband, Keith, and they were married in 1955. They are currently members of Arlington Baptist Church.
Alice is survived by her husband, Keith Mullis; her children Cindy Christenberry (Tom), Kim Mullis (Israel), and Kevin Mullis (Gina); her grandchildren Dale Felts, Klint Mullis, Cory Mullis (Tatum); her great-grandchildren Keely, Darren, Merrick, and Nolan Mullis; her brother Don Irby (Roxie); and her beloved nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in passing by her parents, Miles (Jim) and Cora Parker Irby; her parents in-law McCamie and Irene Garmon Mullis; and her infant brother, John Irby.
A Committal Service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227, on October 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
The family expresses their gratitude to Atrium Health Hospice and Hospice of Union County for their care and support.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Arlington Baptist Church for Arlington Christian Academy, at 9801 Arlington Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
