Amos L. Rager

Amos L. “Junior” Rager, 68, of Jeannette, passed away Saturday, September 12,

2026, in the UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville. He was born November 29, 1957,

in McKeesport, a son of the late Amos Sr., and Roberta Winemiller Rager. Prior to

his retirement Junior was the Deputy Warden at the Westmoreland County Prison

in Greensburg. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in

Jeannette, and a former member of the Hecla Sportsman’s Club. Junior was an avid

outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar Racing and a cold beer. Most

of all Junior, who loved life, was a family man, and especially enjoyed spending

time with his grandchildren, great granddaughter, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Junior was predeceased by a granddaughter Lily Ann

Rager; and his father-in-law Frank Cottone.

He is survived by his loving wife Tina (Cottone) Rager; children, Michele

McQuaide (Robert), of Fredericksburg PA., Amos L. Rager III, (Rachel), of

Ruffsdale Pa., Frank J. Rager (Alicia) of Jeannette, and Lisa R. Rager (Kandyce) of

Grapeville; grandchildren, Xander McQuaide (Brooke), Julian Heasley, Greyson

and Izaac McQuaide, and Brody, Mia, and Frankie Rager; a great granddaughter

Sadie Mae McQuaide; a sister Sherry Matthews (Timothy) of Monessen Pa.; his

mother-in-law Dinka Cottone of Whitehall Pa.; a sister-in-law Michele Schmude

(Eric), of Richmond Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Friday in the John V. Graziano

Funeral Home Inc., 228 North 2 nd St. Jeannette. A funeral service will take place

11:00am Saturday in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 211 Gaskill Ave.,

Jeannette, with Pastor Susan Luttner, officiating. Everyone is asked to please go

directly to the church. Interment will follow in the Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn

Twp.
