Anita James Jones, 89, of Greensburg passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022. She was born April 27, 1933, in Port Henry, New York, the daughter of the late Louis James and Anita Alexander. Anita was an only child. She was raised in multiple cities, including Washington D.C., Hartford, CT, and different parts of Florida by her mother and her aunt, Laura.
Anita loved traveling, gardening, reading, bird watching, and grand old iconic TV Shows like Colombo and Murder She Wrote. From 1974 until her retirement, Anita worked at the Westmoreland County Water Authority. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, John E. Jones. Prior to John’s death, Anita and John shared 25 years of retired blissful life together. Until John’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in 2008, they had the most marvelous life together.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Laura Morelli; sons, Michael Zimmerman and wife, Marie of Colorado; Mark and wife, Terri of Everett, PA; Paul and wife, Wai of Texas and daughter, Mary and fiancé, Rick Curry of Greensburg, stepson, Thomas L. Jones of Greensburg and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anita spent her last six months at Nancy's Personal Care Home. We would like to express our families' great appreciation to Nancy and the staff for the exceptional and loving care Anita received these past months.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 20th from 10:30am until the time of service at 11:30am at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
Private interment will be held in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
