Cumberland, MD-Anna Regina "Jeanne " (Hudson) Colbert, 83, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born July 28, 1942 in Sykesville, MD, Jeanne was the daughter of the late William S. Hudson, Sr. and Anna Virginia (Brightful) Hudson. She was preceded in death by her two younger siblings, sister, Pollyanne Johnson, and brother, Gary Hudson; her in-laws, William A. Colbert, Jr. and Vivian Lee Colbert, and three nieces.

Jeanne graduated from Robert Moton High School in Carroll County, MD. She then attended Bowie State College where she studied teacher education and met her future husband, Bill. After marriage, she later attended Allegany Community College. She lovingly served as a regular and special education paraeducator in several schools. Jeanne retired form the Allegany County Board of Education. Baptized at White Rock Church in Sykesville, upon marriage, Jeanne joined McKendree United Methodist Church and maintained a membership when the church moved to Potomac Park. While there she enjoyed singing on the choir and working with children's ministry.

Anna is survived by her husband of 63 years: William Augustus Colbert, III; her daughters: Clayonia “Yonia” Colbert-Dorsey and husband Neal; Dana Colbert-Mackey and husband Daryl; daughter Kecia Colbert; and son, William “Billy" Colbert, IV; grandchildren: Duaeno Dorsey and wife Jacque; Aynia (Dorsey) Datcher and husband Marcus; and Dominique, Dayanna, Daryl, Jr., and Danea Mackey; great-grandchildren: Kaiden Mackey, Amiyah Quinto, Cameron Dorsey, and Maddox Datcher; as well as her brother, William Hudson, Jr. and wife Joyce; sister-in-law, Genevieve Hudson, several godchildren, numerous nieces/nephews, cousins, and friends.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to: UPMC Western Maryland Medical Center including the Hospice Care Team, the 5th and 6th floor staff, the Home Healthcare Team, the Western Maryland Regional Dialysis Center, the Cumberland Healthcare Center, Hometown Family Healthcare's DNP and staff, Jeanne’s extensive list of doctors and surgeons, as well as those members of the Cooper-Peck-Groomes-Brightful families and her/the family’s close friends who have and continue to surround the family with loving support during this journey.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com), on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will being at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Patrick Hurder Buhrman officiating.

Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, and the repast will take place at McKendree United Methodist Church of Potomac Park.
