Arlivia Wherry Crawford

Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mrs. Arlivia Wherry Crawford, 94, went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. She was born in York County, South Carolina to the late Sam & Rebecca Wherry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Floyd Crawford; Four brothers, J.T. Wherry, Sammie Wherry, Johnny Wherry, and Charlie Wherry; and three sisters, Frances Johnson, Lillie B. Moore, and Alvinia Thurman.

Mrs. Crawford was an active member of Chestnut Grove A.M.E Zion Church, where she was baptized at the age of nine. She worked diligently in Christian Education, eventually becoming superintendent of church school. Mrs. Crawford has held just about every position at Chestnut Grove AME Zion Church except for Pastor. She also diligently worked and represented the A.M.E. Zion York/Chester & Rock Hill District. She was a avid volunteer for many organizations in Rock Hill.

Mrs. Crawford leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Albert Crawford Sr. (Mary); Daughter, Charlene H. Moore (Frank); ten grandchildren, Michelle Washington (Clarence), Albert Crawford Jr. (Stacy), Lakesha Heath, James McKinney, Dr. John McKinney (Nikki), Michael Crawford, Marvin Crawford, and Arlivia Nikki Jones (Chris); 18 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Wherry (Elaine) and William Wherry (Barbara); and sister, Mary Moffatt (Lonnie); a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.

The Home Going service for Mrs. Crawford will be 2 pm Thursday at Rock Grove A.M.E. Zion Church. Viewing will be from 1-2pm Thursday at the church. Robinson Funeral Home is serving the Crawford Family.
