Arnell Schneck

July 22, 1938 - June 15, 2024 (Age 85)

Mrs. Arnell M. Schneck, 85, of Mint Hill, died peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Novant Medical Center in Mint Hill.

“MeMe” as she was affectionately called, was born in Union County on July 22, 1938, the daughter of George and Helen Godfrey McLain. While still in high school, she met and married Ronald E. Wallace. After graduating from Bethel School in Midland, North Carolina, she began her career and ultimately retired from Southern Bell, later to become AT&T. After she retired from the telecommunications field, she went back to work at Sam’s Club, which she enjoyed until macular degeneration degraded her sight to the point she could no longer work.

Arnell enjoyed many things in life, including spending time with all her friends at Lawyers Glenn. Most of all, Arnell loved the time spent with others, especially her family. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and she will be sadly missed but not just them, but all who knew her.

Arnell is survived by her son Scott (wife Terri) Wallace, son Shane (wife Sherri) Wallace, grandchildren: Neely Wallace, Ashley (husband Zack) Webb, Jordan (husband Cody) Dixon, and Emily Wallace; a great-granddaughter, Louanna Dixon; a brother, Donald (wife Dianne) McLain; and sisters Peggy Smith and Trudy Mask. She is further survived by special friend Jan Harris and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, as well as her second husband, Dennis Schneck.

We would like to give a special thank you to all the wonderful people at Lawyers Glenn Retirement Community, all her friends who were so special to her and visited daily.

In planning for this day, Arnell gave the family the privilege of caring for her and her family to the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home.

Services for Arnell led by Pastor Rick Schilling will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 19, at Blair Road United Methodist Church, 9135 Blair Road, Mint Hill, NC Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 until the time of service. Following the service, Arnell will be taken in procession to her final place of earthly rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte.

In honor of her love of others, the family respectfully requests donations in Arnell’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, online at https://www.kidney.org/
