B. Waynette Bridwell
February 21, 1943 - February 19, 2025 (Age 81)
B. Waynette Fitz Bridwell, 81 of Zanesville died at 8:02 AM Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Primrose of Lancaster.
She was born on Sunday, February 21, 1943, in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of Wayne “Lefty” Everett Fitz and Marjorie Montieth Fitz Kuhn.
Waynette earned her BS in Nursing from Ohio University, and a Master’s in nursing administration from Otterbein University. She loved teaching nursing and leading the VICA club at Mid-East Ohio Vocational School before moving into the Director of Nursing position, spending final years of career as Director of Nursing at Mount Vernon Career Center. During retirement Waynette was dedicated to educating at local churches and other local organizations the message of Shared Hope International. Waynette was very involved with her church community at St John’s Lutheran Church in Zanesville as a member of Circle 5, chairing the Welcome and Baptism Committees and participating in choir.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry (John) Pattison; a son, Robert John Bridwell and his partner Kevin Stanley; daughter, Kylie Bridwell; son, Kyron Bridwell, daughter Hannah Bridwell and her fiancé Scott Newhouse and their son Eli; four sisters, Pearlene Delph, Teresa Jane Potts, Tammie (Steve) Arling and Valerie (Roger) Whitaker; sister-in-law, Jan Fitz; brothers-in-law, Joe (Phyllis) Bridwell and Dan (Phyllis) Wakefield; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Waynette was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Bridwell; twin brother, Wayne Fitz; a sister, Deborah Nanelle Wakefield; and brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Jim & Becky Bridwell.
Special “Thank You” to Primrose Memory Care of Lancaster and Shriver’s Hospice for providing great care, comfort and support over the past couple years. Home Instead of Zanesville was also a wonderful group of care providers prior to her transition to assisted living.
Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the St. John's Lutheran Church where funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Combs officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Attendees are invited to a Life Celebration at the Zanesville Country Club after the burial.
