Barbara Payne Buys, born on March 19, 1933, in Highland Park, Michigan, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 92. She was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lester Buys, and her son, Robert Matthew Buys. She is survived by her sons, Jon Buys (Elayna) and Craig Buys (Tracy); her grandchildren, Jennifer French, Jeremy Buys, Heather Buys, and Robert Buys. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Reginald Payne and Jean Carter Payne, as well as four sisters and two brothers.
Barbara worked as the Financial Secretary for Amity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, located at 8901 Lawyers Rd., Mint Hill, North Carolina, on February 23, 2026, at 11:00 am.
