Betty Horner

August 8, 1933 - November 19, 2024 (Age 91)

Betty L. Horner, 91, of Roaring Spring, passed away Tuesday November 19, 2024 at UPMC-Altoona. She was born August 8, 1933, in King, daughter of the late Charles D. and Pearl K. (Manges) Feather. She was twice married, first to George Ball, who passed away September 16, 1961, and then to Richard Horner, who passed away February 4, 1985.

Surviving are 4 children Charlie Ball wife Joanna and Lucinda Ball, all of Roaring Spring, Pastor Richard Horner and wife Bettie Mae of Galveston, Indiana and Jackie Lockett and husband Gary of Everett, 8 grandchildren Amanda Horner, Jessica Husted (Matt), Rhoda Jones (Jeremy), Jason Horner (Crystal), Sarah Neil (Ron), Sherrie Ritchey (Chris Kelly), Felicia Soper (John) and Heather Wensley (Chris), 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Also surviving are 2 sisters Eleanor Rice-Shallop and Dorothy Miller, a brother Carl Feather and wife Doris and a sister-in-law Emmalene Feather.

Betty was preceded in death by 2 grandsons Hervey Ball and Ryan Mountain, 3 brothers William Neal, Charles Lee and Robert Feather and a sister Mary Claar-Cameron.

Betty was a 1950 graduate of Claysburg High School. She retired in 1998, as a payroll clerk, from the Spring Cove School District, and was previously employed at the Claysburg Brick Yard and Nason Hospital.

Betty attended St. Mark’s Reformed Church. King. She enjoyed going on Elder Hostel trips with her grandchildren Sarah, Sherrie, and Hervey, watching westerns, Jeopardy, and crime shows on TV, and spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 11 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. on Friday November 29, 2024 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday November 29, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Horner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Claysburg Food Bank.
