Betty Jean Lively
October 4, 1932 - December 13, 2023 (Age 91)
Mrs. Betty Jean Lively, 91, of Charlotte, passed away at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Mrs. Lively was born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina on October 4, 1932. She was a homemaker who raised four sons. Mrs. Lively loved God, was a Christian and a member of Mountain Island Church of Christ; she often sang church hymns around her home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved that they were starting to have children of their own; some of her biggest smiles were when she was holding a baby. After her husband’s retirement, they enjoyed spending more time at Sunset Beach, North Carolina with other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Paul “Glenn" Lively, and her parents, who were married, Grover Cleveland Martin and Fannie Richardson Martin.
Mrs. Lively is survived by her four sons Doug (Marilyn), Darrell (Susan), Dennis (Linda), Scott (Angie); seven grandchildren, Matthew, Adelyn (Pablo), Megan (Ryan), Sarah (Jake), Jason (Katie), Alex, Madeline; and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at James Funeral Home (10520 Arahova Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078) on December 19, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. A service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Committal services will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
