Betty Lou R. Walters

July 6, 1940 - March 24, 2025 (Age 84)

Betty Lou Rebecca (Baylor) Walters, 84, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Pottstown, PA. Born in Pine Grove, PA, on July 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William Baylor and Eva (Schomper) Baylor Keim.

Betty had a deep love for birds and found joy in feeding them breadcrumbs and watching them from her window. Over the years, she had several parakeets, all of whom were named “Pretty Girl.” She created a bird playground in her living room where they would play when she let them fly freely around her home. She loved talking and whistling to them, and they would respond to her and sit on her shoulders.

Betty was an avid sports fan who rarely missed a game on TV with her friends—cheering on football, baseball, hockey, and even roller derby with enthusiasm. In quieter moments, she enjoyed spending time with her coloring books, bringing each page to life with color and creativity. She framed many of her finished pieces and gave them to friends and family as gifts.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Vickianne and Paul Ragalyi, and Rosemarie and Jay Daegele; her grandchildren, Stephen, Bethany, Amber, Alissa, Mike, Celena, Cory, Ivy, Ian, Bradley, Aubrie, and Layne; and her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Marvin Kehler Jr., and her siblings, Paul Baylor, George Cressman, Anna Mae Long, and Shirley Kehler.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A celebration of Betty’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m.
