Betty Louise Hinson
February 3, 1925 - September 22, 2024 (Age 99)
Betty Louise Hinson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by family. Her vibrant spirit, deep love for her family, and devotion to her faith will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Betty was born with a nurturing heart and a passion for caring for others. She pursued her dream by attending nursing school at Johns Hopkins in her younger years, later transitioning to work at Southern Bell as a human resource specialist. Her career was a testament to her commitment to helping others and her strong work ethic.
In her personal life, Betty found joy in the simple, meaningful things. She loved reading, tending to her garden, quilting, and canning. She was also known for her warm, inviting kitchen where she delighted in cooking and baking for her loved ones. Family was at the center of her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her faith in Jesus Christ guided her throughout her life. Betty was a devoted member of her church, finding peace and joy in her community of fellow believers. She also had a passion for traveling and especially loved spending time in the mountains, where she felt connected to nature and her Creator.
Betty's legacy is one of love, faith, and generosity, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. While her physical presence is no longer with us, her memory and the lessons she taught through her actions and faith will remain in our hearts forever.
Betty is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and extended family. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love and service, and her impact on this world will continue to be felt by those who were blessed to know her.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, Greg Hinson (Kathy); her daughter, Rheba Calton (Cuyler); seven grandchildren, Stephanie Tucker (Trent), Amanda Furr (Chris), Amy Smith (Ross), Brad Hinson (Caitlin), Wes Calton (Kelly), Ben Calton (Esther), and Maggie Calton (Thomas); and 21 great-grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, William Raeburn Hinson; and a great-grandson, Blaine Hinson.
