Betty Thompson

Betty J. Thompson, 92, of Hunker, passed away on Thursday May 9, 2024. She was born on November 1, 1931, in Scottdale, the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Hudkin) Geisel. Betty was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Stanton. Prior to retirement she worked as a Seamstress working in numerous local sewing factories. She is survived by her loving family, her children, Susan Albert, of Greensburg, William Thompson (Roxanne Scott), of Youngwood, Cynthia Camaione (David), of Greensburg and Mark Thompson (Lynne Chishoom), of New Brighton; her grandchildren, Alexa King (Derek), Travis Thompson (Kate), Sarah Stokum (Tony) and Samantha Franklin (Clint); great grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Austin, John and James and her great-great granddaughter, Finley. She is also survived by her siblings, Randy Parker (Gail), of Pleasant Unity, Calvin Parker, of Greensburg and Joy Diehl, of Hunker, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William S. Thompson, her daughter, Cathy Thompson and her sisters, Eileen Felice and Saundra Parker. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 13, from 4-7 PM in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th Street, Youngwood. A funeral service be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
