Blair Sell
January 14, 1955 – August 18, 2026 (Age 71)
Blair was born on January 14, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from South High School and attended Capital University, then later earned his master's degree at the University of Dayton. Blair dedicated 35 years to educating young people as a middle school social studies teacher at Teays Valley. During his time there, he also coached football, organized the annual 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., and founded the Teays Valley Middle School Renaissance Fair after being inspired by a field trip to the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
Outside of teaching, Blair owned and operated Blair Care Lawn Services, where he enjoyed working with customers and selling mulch, trees, shrubs, and pumpkins. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and had a passion for classic cars, especially Camaros.
Blair is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Judy Sell; daughters, Jennifer and Laura (Jonathan) Rupert; grandchildren, Abigail Hannah Rupert, Alexander Sell Rupert, Samuel Richard Rupert, and Sarah Eliana Rupert; mother, Edith Snyder; brother, Mike (Carolyn) Sell; sister, Jan Sell; brother-in-law, Dave Niswonger; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Leah Niswonger, and father, Jim Snyder.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110, with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, 5802 Elder Rd., Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110. The family invites all who knew Blair to attend, celebrate his life, and share memories.
