Blanca Espin passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born on March 11, 1934, in Quito, Ecuador.

Blanca was a hardworking, generous, and funny woman whose positivity and contagious sense of humor brought joy to everyone around her. A devoted member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, she lived her faith through kindness, service, and unconditional love for her family.

She had a great passion for music and Spanish novelas, which brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life. In 1964, Blanca immigrated to the United States and proudly became a U.S. citizen shortly thereafter—an accomplishment she held close to her heart.

Blanca will always be remembered for her strong work ethic, uplifting spirit, generosity, and her ability to make anyone smile or laugh. She was a devoted mother, loving sister, and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. She inspired everyone who knew her and was deeply loved by all.

She is survived by her children, Francisco Coello and Liliana Castrillon; her grandchildren, Michael Castrillon, Carmen Coello, Nicole Early, Francisco Coello Jr., Angelica Coello, and Maria Oxendine; 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved younger sister, Rosario Castrillon.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Inesita Espin and Alicita Coello, and her brothers, Alfonso Espin, Victor Espin, and Jaime Espin.

Blanca Espin leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and resilience that will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation in her memory.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, 9800 Fairview Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227, on May 22, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
