Bobbie C. Allen

Mr. Bobbie C. Allen, 90, passed away on May 1, 2022.

A graveside to celebrate his life will be held on Sat. May 14, 2022, at 11am at Sunset Memory Gardens.

All will cherish the memory of Bob as the devoted husband, Pawpaw, “Big Pawpaw”, dear friend and most importantly a disciple of Jesus Christ. Having been reared at Barium Springs Orphanage during the depression years, he was very familiar with hard work and perseverance that followed him throughout his life. These qualities were seen in his career paths after serving in the US Army, as a salesman in the automotive parts industry, foreman in commercial roofing and ending with nearly 20 years as a CMS and Charlotte Christian School/Activity bus driver until retirement at the age of 84. In the Charlotte community, Bob made a strong and lasting impact on so many lives along the way, as he did all these things as unto the Lord and proclaiming the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bob’s love for his Lord and Savior was evident in the many years he spent serving his family, friends, church, community, neighbors and strangers, all to the glory of God.

Bobbie C. Allen was born November 29, 1931, in Davidson County, North Carolina to the late Burl Frank and Letha L. (Jarvis) Allen. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Elvin Allen, Earl Allen and daughter, Letha Fuller.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen (Harless) Allen; children: Lydia Williams, husband Rick, Leslie Beck, husband William and son-in-law Ben Fuller; six (6) grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
