Rock Hill – Mr. Bobbie Wayne Wells, 76, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church, with Dr. Jim Neal officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 am-10:30 am at the church.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, Mr. Wells was the son of the late Henry Cecil Wells and the late Gertrude Threatt Wells. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was retired from General Tire with 31 years of service. He loved the Lord and was a dedicated worker in the churches he attended. He enjoyed Duke basketball, Clemson football and volunteered at Hunter Street Elementary. When he was at Central Baptist Church in York, he served on the Release Time Bible Education ministry. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marsha Kaye Ballard Wells; his daughter, Rachel (Scott) Logue of York; two granddaughters, Katie Scarlett (Jimmy) Doyle of Brookhaven, PA and Megan Elizabeth Logue of Fort Mill, SC; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Espinoza and Charlie Espinoza; his brother, Tommy Cecil (Gloria) Wells of Rock Hill, SC; and his sister-in-law, Janice Bigham of Rock Hill, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Wells’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959; or to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
