Bonnie Nozzarella
November 4, 1948 – July 10, 2026 (Age 77)
Bonnie Elaine Nozzarella, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and three daughters at her home in Keyser, WV on July 10, 2026.
She was born November 4, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, to the late Van Lear and Geraldine (Haines) Johnson.
Bonnie graduated from Allegany High School in 1966, and then began a career as a medical billing specialist at Center Radiology in Cumberland.
Bonnie worked as a medical biller at Center Radiology for several years and enjoyed the close relationships she shared with her coworkers. Her other full-time job was being a single mother to her three daughters. During the years she raised her daughters, she was also a caregiver to extended family members. Her days were full but she always made time to care for her family.
Later in years and following a mission trip to Panama where she met her husband, Mario, Bonnie's faith grew and her love for the Lord extended more deeply into all her relationships. It was important to her that others know the Lord and receive the grace and everlasting love she knew to be true. Into her final days, she continued to share with others the message of salvation.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mario Nozzarello; her daughters, Shelly Carr, Christa Brakeall and husband Hunter, and Terri Stevenson and husband Scott; sons, Mario Nozzarella Jr. and Matthew Joseph Nozzarella and wife Terri; two brothers, Ed Gaus and Steve Johnson and wife Bev; nine grandchildren, Lindsay Carr, JT Stevenson, Allan Stevenson, Averi Nozzarella, Camryn Brakeall, Sophie Nozzarella, Rachel and Nichole Nozzarella, and Paxton Nozzarella; her large extended family; many friends; and her beloved dog Honey Bear.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 16th from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland.
Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, July 17th from 10:00 to 11:00am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am with Pastors Michael Steins and Gene Cecil officiating.
