Rock Hill – Mrs. Brenda Lee Ard, 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating.
Born in Chester, SC, Mrs. Ard was the daughter of the late Harold Ernest Roof and the late Beatrice McManus Roof. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Madge Watts, Constance Roof Johnson and Phyllis Roof; and her brothers, Harold Frazier Roof, Franklin Garner Roof, James Ray “Dink” Roof and Bruce Allison Roof. She worked at Westminster Towers as a housekeeper and was a member of the American Legion Post #34. Brenda, who was Maw Maw to her granddaughters, will be remembered as the bubbly and colorful joy of their world.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Zingle Ard; her daughter, Jane (Bill) Goar of Rock Hill; her son, Christopher Ard of Rock Hill; her granddaughters, Brittany Goar of Rock Hill and Brandy Goar of Florence; and her sister, Helen Roof Lovelace of Rock Hill, SC.
