Bruce G. Snider
January 5, 1952 - November 18, 2025 (Age 73)
Bruce Gilbert Snider, 73, of Imler, passed peacefully through the Gates of Splendor with his loving family by his side on November 18, 2025. He was born on January 5, 1952, in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, to the late Obie Snider and Mary Ann (Gilbert) Snider.
Bruce dedicated his life to his Savior, his family, and his stewardship of Singing Brook Farms. On June 10, 1978, he married his beloved wife, Lori Ellen Kauffman. He often expressed that he wished everyone could experience the deep love and commitment they shared for 47 years.
Bruce was the definition of faithful. He endured years of physical pain and illness with a steadfast and kind soul. He continued to work and serve others while laying aside concerns for himself. His spirit defied the condition of his physical body and heart. Inside, he was a giant among men.
He was a cherished husband, father, and brother, and was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “Pa.” His family was the joy of his life, and he always spoke of them with a twinkle in his eye. He brought great joy to those who loved him through his kindness and faithfulness. He was always eager to share his love for the Lord with everyone he encountered.
Bruce graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School in 1970, where his love for wrestling began. He remained a devoted fan and follower of both Chestnut Ridge and Penn State wrestling throughout his life. He attended Alfred College from 1970–1972, studying dairy husbandry, and was a member of the wrestling team. He spent his life caring for his milk cows and faithfully tending the land entrusted to him. He was active in the Holstein Association at the local, state, and national levels. He served and attended faithfully at the East Freedom Chapel, founded by his parents.
In addition to his wife, Lori, Bruce is survived by his children Ross Snider of Imler, PA; Greta Halahan (Stephen) of Lebanon, PA; Nora Corle (Aaron) of Versailles, KY; and Rachel Bartley (Brandon) of Cogan Station, PA; his grandchildren Ava and Jillian Snider, Bruce and Ezekiel Corle, Quinn and Jackson Halahan, Calvin Bartley, and Baby Bartley (whom Pa affectionately called “Cookie”), anticipated to arrive in January; and his three sisters, Karyl Lynn Harper (David), Jo Nell Snider, and Ross Ann Clark. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Mary Ann Snider, and his brother-in-law, Jim Clark.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, at the East Freedom Chapel, 242 Mt. Pleasant St., East Freedom, PA 16637 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, also at the East Freedom Chapel. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
