Bruce Lee Murray
January 16, 1930 - February 5, 2025 (Age 95)
Bruce Lee Murray, of Corriganville, passed away at his home February 5th, 2025.
Bruce was born and raised on a farm in Sand Patch, PA in January 1930. His parents were the late Frank and Laura (Fair) Murray. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Emma Belle (Lepley) Murray in 2011; and his 8 sisters and 3 brothers. Bruce is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Bruce loved his family, his Lord and Savior, his church and always loved his job. Bruce retired from Cumberland Concrete Corp after driving a cement mixer tuck for nearly 30 years in 1996. He went almost immediately back to work for CHP and drove a school bus for the next 16 years finally retiring a second time at the age of 84. Bruce married the love of his life, Emma Belle (Lepley) Murray in 1950 while he was in the Army during Korea, they were married 62 years. He was a hardworking man who would do anything for anyone and never asked for anything in return except maybe a cup of coffee or a piece of pie.
Bruce is survived by his children: Brenda McCray and husband Jim, Annandale, VA, Dennis Murray and Wife Crystal, Cumberland, MD, grandchildren Kristan Frenzel and Husband Ray, LaVale, Dustin Murray and wife Kristin, Eckhart, Lee Murray and wife Rachel, Corriganville, Katie Bowman and husband David, LaVale, MD, Andrea McCray, James and Jon McCray, Annandale VA and great grandchildren Ariella and Elias Bowman, Maverick Frenzel, Jackson and Ryleigh Murray and Cadence Taylor. Bruce is also survived by many nieces and nephews who came to visit him in his last days. A special thank you to his companion for the past 8 years, Nancy Klein.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com at 1:00 P.M, with Pastor Martin Lease officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior.
A final thank you to all the wonderful caregivers who have been with him for the past 6 weeks keeping him comfortable.
