Bruce Paul Petro

Bruce Paul Petro, 80, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, passed away at home on December 8th, 2021. He was born on June 20th, 1941.
Bruce was born in Buffalo, New York, and is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Evelyn, his son Timothy Petro, Sister Lynne Anderson, and brother-in-law Jerry Anderson. Bruce received his Associate's Degree from Bryant and Stratton Business School. He served in the United States Coast Guard. Bruce was formerly from Angola, N.Y., and he was an owner of the Meineke Muffler in Monroe, N.C., until he retired.
Bruce loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed serving at Idlewild Baptist Church, where he was a member since 1988. He also enjoyed traveling and sailing. Bruce loved to visit with his neighbors while walking his dog, Doogan. He also enjoyed his bacon breakfasts with his brother-in-law Chris.
Bruce was a family man; he and his wife Diane were married for 43 years. Bruce is survived by his loving wife Diane, his children Brian Petro (Diana), Nikki Howard (David), David Petro (Heather), Mary Petro Smith (Glenn). Bruce is survived by his brothers and sisters Larry Petro (Donna), Kathleen Mathewson (Chris), and Scott Petro (Denise), 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 11th, at Idlewild Baptist Church, 12701 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, with service at 11 AM. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
