Callie Elizabeth Watts, age 91, of Indian Trail, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Born on July 1, 1934, in Stanley, Oklahoma, Callie was a proud graduate of Plainview High School in Plainview, Oklahoma, Class of 1954. She was a devoted member of Abundant Life Church in Matthews, North Carolina, where her faith, gentle spirit, and famous hugs were a blessing to all who knew her.

Callie will be remembered as loving, kind, and caring, a woman whose warmth and compassion touched countless lives. She found joy in reading, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her love was constant and unwavering, and she always made those around her feel cherished.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Euell Watts, with whom she shared 71 wonderful years of marriage—a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion. Together, they served as Pastor and Pastor’s Wife to 3 churches in Longmont, CO, Dalhart, TX, and Pasadena, CA. She is also survived by her children, Linda Watts Martin (husband Darrell) and Rev. Brent Watts (wife Paula); sisters, Rose Sudderth and Anna Adams; grandchildren, Amanda Martin, Stephanie Martin Dyer (husband Larry), Ashley Watts Robertson (husband Dennis), and Alyson Watts Lewis (husband Lance); and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lela Gaines; two brothers, Aaron and Truman Gaines; and two sisters, Lydia Cagle and Ruth Woody.

Callie’s legacy is one of grace, generosity, and quiet strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Abundant Life Church, 3321 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd, Matthews, NC 28105. A funeral service will immediately follow. Callie will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
