Carmen Sue Stackhouse
March 20, 1936 - December 28, 2024 (Age 88)
Carmen Sue Stackhouse, 88, of Zanesville passed at 8:06 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024, at The Oaks Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center following a one-year illness.
She was born on Friday, March 20, 1936, in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late J. Neil Bachelor and Elwilda V. Mason Bachelor.
Carmen was a member of Duncan Falls United Methodist Church. She graduated from Ohio State School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse in many locations in her early career, having worked in California and Colorado. Carmen then later came back to Zanesville where she met and married her husband, John Stackhouse. Thereafter she was employed as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. Shortly after she retired, she was employed for several years at Bryan's Interior.
She is survived by a son, David "Pete" (Alona) Stackhouse, a daughter, Susan (Tim) Hunter; three grandchildren, Mikelle (Brenden) Williams, Mason Hunter and Ridge Stackhouse; a great grandson, Brayden Williams; a sister, Sandra Watson and two nieces, Jamie Watson and Lee Anne Test.
In addition to her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her husband John Wilbur Stackhouse.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with funeral service, starting with MidEast Ohio Nurses Honor Guard, will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Karen Osborn officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park.
