Carolyn Gail Giles

Carolyn Gail Giles "Cookie", age 73. The sun rose on September 9, 1951 and set on November 6, 2024. Preceded in death by her parents: Clyde Albert Cole and Blanche Yvonne Craddock, loving husband, Richard "Deacon" Giles; and siblings Ronald Wayne (Sharon) Cole and Linda Ruth Cole and grandson David Lee Giles. Carolyn came into this world by home birth at Maple Fort Homestead West Virginia and was very proud of her humble beginnings. Anyone that knew Cookie at any stage of her life can associate her with music. She loved Southern Gospel and was a longtime member of Hilltop Community Full Gospel Church, where she sang in her later years. Cookie lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends, telling stories, playing bingo, snacking, and spending time with her family. Cookie worked hard her entire life to provide for them and she had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, usually through laughter. Cookie is survived by her remaining siblings David Cole (Dana ), Elizabeth Cole (David Snyder), Michelle Thomas as well as 6 children, Kimberly (Bill) VanDyke, Kenneth (Amanda) Toops and Michael Toops, Dana Bull, Dona Schall- Scott (Jeff Scott), Richard David (Deena)Giles II, a handful of nieces and nephews, whom she deeply loved, 10 grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren that she “loved to the moon and back." Visitation will be Monday November 11th, 2024, 10am-Noon, with services immediately following at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME 515 High Street Worthington, OH 43085Pastor Leanne Parden officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest beside her husband concluding the homecoming celebration of life at Interment Northlawn Memory Gardens 7060 State Route 3 Westerville, Ohio
