Carrie Lou James

Carrie Lou James, 92 of Charlotte, NC was called to eternal rest on Monday, August 23, 2021, while under the care of Peak Resources Nursing Home, Charlotte, NC. She was born May 6, 1929, to the late Willie and Rosa Lee Gaines Davis, in Orangeburg County, Salley, SC.
Carrie Lou attended Sardis Middle School, Salley, SC, in her younger years. She received a nursing certificate from Central Piedmont Community College in her adult years. Carrie Lou worked as a nurse assistant for 36 years.
Carrie Lou attended Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Salley, SC as a child. She joined Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church in 1952. Carrie Lou served on the Usher Board, Senior Choir, Hymn Choir, Kitchen Committee and Missionary Board. She was Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School as well as a Sunday School teacher.
Carrie Lou James was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. James; daughter, Cassandra Denise James; son, Lewis James; sisters, Carrie Garvin, Marie Schofield, Willie Mae Neal; and brother, Robert Lee Davis.
Carrie Lou leaves to cherish precious memories: sister, Ollie Williams of Salley, SC; brother, Isiah Davis of Aiken, SC; daughter, Rose Belle Truesdale of Charlotte, NC; son, Douglas James (Brenda) of Mocksville, NC; stepson, UC Issac (Toni); special daughter and son, Cynthia and Craig Devereaux of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
