Catherine A. Cathey
April 3, 1947 – May 12, 2026 (Age 79)
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Catherine Ann Cathey, who departed this life on May 12, 2026, at Novant Health Main Harris Hospice Unit, surrounded by her loving daughter and longtime caregiver, Mrs.
Stephanie Ann Anthony.
Catherine was born and raised in Morristown, New Jersey.
Through mutual friends, she met the love of her life, Mr. Allen Edward Cathey, Jr. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with one daughter, Stephanie Ann Anthony.
Catherine had a special love for animals. After relocating to Charlotte, she dedicated 15 years of service working at an animal boarding kennel, where her compassion and gentle spirit touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Mr.
Allen Edward Cathey, Jr.; bonus sons, Allen Edward Rushing (Gloria) and Allen Edward Cathey III, "Wayne"; and bonus daughter, Phillicia Patrice Cathey.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving daughter, Mrs. Stephanie Ann Anthony (Calvin "PJay" Anthony); bonus sons, Carlos Rushing, Kerri Cathey, and Dana Cathey; one brother, Mr. Harold Noonan Jr.; one grandson, Quantavius Anthony; and a host of other loving family members and dear friends.
Catherine's love, kindness, and devotion to her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
