Catherine Champ
January 15, 1939 - January 18, 2022 (Age 83)
Catherine Ann Champ, 83, of Cumberland, went home to be with The Lord on January 18, 2022.
Born January 15, 1939 in Ford City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Edna (Blackson) McGuire.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Champ, Sr.; two sons, Allen and Anthony Champ; a great granddaughter, Bethany Green; three sisters, Doris Bucko, Florence Hardy, and Gladys Harvey; and, one brother, Fred T. McGuire.
She belonged to Christ Lutheran Church.
Catherine was devoted to her children and grandchildren – always a very generous giver to family and friends. Everyone who met Catherine loved her, and in turn, called her “Grandma.”
Survivors include her children, Crystal Champ, with whom she and GIZMO resided, Bonnie Robeson and husband Francis, Joyce Snyder, and Mary Hall; sister, Cleora McGuire Simpson; step-brother, Harold Simpson; grandchildren, Austin and Sarena Robeson, Morgan Snyder, Cheyenne Hartman, Tricia Champ, Jonathan and Steven Hall; and, four great, grandchildren, Hudson and Ashlyn Hartman, Mason Rice, and Katelyn Whitacre.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Saturday from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Daniel Swanson, officiating.
