Charles Lawson
July 19, 1954 - January 19, 2024 (Age 69)
Of North Huntingdon, age 69, died on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Chuck was the beloved husband of Theresa “Tess” (Cotter) Lawson.
He was a devoted father of Kylee (fiancé, Russell Graves) of West Newton and Stephanie (Anthony) Chick of Penn.
Cherished grandfather of Lorenzo and Luca Chick.
Dear brother of jenny Lawson of Greentree, Douglas (Renee) Lawson of FL., and the late Sally Miller.
Chuck is also survived by nieces and nephews and his pet Golden Retriever, Dakota.
Chuck was a graduate of Washington High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed for years with Kelly Temporary Services. U.S. Steel, Irvin Works was a site that he was called upon to serve on a temporary basis. However, due to his reputation and dedicated work ethic, U.S. Steel hired Chuck and he spent a 25 year career at Irvin Works, retiring as an Operations Manager.
In retirement, Chuck became a school bus driver in the Fox Chapel School District working for ABC Bus Company.
Chuck’s favorite pastime was collecting different gauges of model trains and he earned the nickname of “Choo Choo Charlie”. He also enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers as a season-ticket holder.
Friends are welcome on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Avenue at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800)
where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Chuck will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Penn Lincoln Cemetery.
