Charles W. “Chuck” Johnson, 89, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at William Penn Care Center in Jeannette. He was born November 23, 1934, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Oscar and Thelma (Brown) Johnson.
Prior to retirement, Chuck was in the banking industry for his entire career, starting with Mellon Bank and ending with PNC. Chuck, a United States Army veteran, was an avid golfer, enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved watching and hearing about sporting events, from Pittsburgh teams to those of his children and grandchildren. He was a constant companion to his wife, enjoying and appreciating the time spent together, whether for routine appointments or bigger occasions. He greatly treasured the time he spent with his friends and especially his family.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alma (Obringer) Johnson; two sons, David (Sheryl) Johnson and Daniel (Cheryl) Johnson; four grandchildren, Zachary, Alyssa, Anna and Evan. Visitation is from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday, December 19, 2023, after which a funeral service will be held at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. Entombment is private at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
